Former LSU defensive end Sam Montgomery is getting another chance in the NFL.
The Cincinnati Bengals signed Montgomery, a third-round pick of the Houston Texans in last year’s NFL draft, according to a report from Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post.
The Texans released Montgomery midway through his rookie season after he violated team rules. Montgomery signed with the Oakland Raiders in December of last year, but injured his knee on the first day of practice and never played with the team.
Montgomery participated in LSU’s pro day Wednesday with Bengals scouts in attendance, going through positional drills rather than running in any of the timed events.
