Some things in life you can count on annually: Death, taxes and LSU-Alabama on CBS.
The Tigers and Crimson Tide will kick off in primetime at Bryant-Denny Stadium on Nov. 4, the Southeastern Conference announced Monday, confirming the expected.
No. 23 LSU (6-2, 3-1 SEC) and Ed Orgeron are back in the rankings after a three-game winning streak against SEC rivals but will be taking a significant step up in weight class to take on the No. 1 Crimson Tide (8-0, 5-0 SEC) following a bye week.
It’ll be the seventh consecutive season that LSU-Alabama game occupies the network’s premier timeslot and 11th straight LSU-Alabama meeting aired on CBS.
Alabama has won the previous six meetings in a row, a streak that’s taken on a life of its own within LSU and its fan base. Orgeron isn’t interested in downplaying it, either.
“We talked about it in (the locker room),” Orgeron said. “It is a big deal. LSU-Alabama, it doesn’t get bigger than that. But we’ll worry about that when we come back from our break.”
LSU is expected to be a 24-point underdog against Alabama, according to USA Today handicapper and analyst Danny Sheridan.
