LSU opened practice to the media for the final time Wednesday afternoon before locking the doors to finish preparing for Sunday’s season opener against Miami in Dallas.
It did so without its two top tight ends.
Foster Moreau and Thaddeus Moss were both absent from the media viewing portion of practice on “Turnover Wednesday,” as LSU coach Ed Orgeron likes to call it.
Moreau’s absence seems noteworthy because he’s got perfect attendance as far as the open portions of practice go since the start of fall camp, but it’s unclear if he’s injured or simply getting a partial day off. Moss was also absent on Tuesday and through most of last week, but Orgeron did say Monday that he was expected to play against Miami.
Jacory Washington, David Ducre and Tory Carter were the first three tight ends to go through individual drills, followed by a few other players in orange scout team jerseys. Washington was a full participant after dealing with an injury during fall camp.
PERSONNEL NUGGETS
- Defensive end Rashard Lawrence was again a full participant in practice. Orgeron said Monday that he was expected to play against Miami.
- Defensive back Terrence Alexander was again working with the safeties during individual drills. Orgeron said earlier in the day that the Stanford transfer was being worked in at “several” packages to see where he could fit best in the secondary.
- Badara Traore was the first-team right tackle during individual drills whenever LSU lined up as a five-man front.
