Practice Report: Oct. 2

LSU center Lloyd Cushenberry is looking less questionable by the day to play against Florida.

One day after declaring him “very questionable” for Saturday, LSU coach Ed Orgeron said this morning on ESPN 104.5 in Baton Rouge that he expected the sophomore to play. Cushenberry followed that up by logging a full participation at practice on Tuesday afternoon.

Staying along the offensive line, as these practice reports tend to do this season, left tackle Saahdiq Charles practiced in a yellow non-contact jersey. Orgeron said yesterday that Charles is expected to return to the lineup this week after missing two games with an undisclosed injury.

Two starters on the other side of the ball were missing from the media viewing portion of LSU’s “Competition Tuesday” practice. Defensive end Glen Logan and linebacker Jacob Phillips were absent. A source said Phillips was stiff from a hit he took late in the Ole Miss game, but that the sophomore is expected to play against the Gators.

The following players were in yellow non-contact jerseys on Tuesday: Cornerback Greedy Williams, nose tackle Breiden Fehoko, cornerback Jontre Kirklin and safety Ed Paris.
