LSU remains in CFP Top 10

The College Football Playoff committee clearing didn’t put much bearing on LSU’s 7-overtime loss to Texas A&M as the Tigers remains a top 10 team in the penultimate rankings released Tuesday evening.

The No. 10 spot all but guarantees a spot in a New Years Six Bowl, but Florida’s ranking at No. 9 virtually eliminates the Sugar Bowl as an option.

The favorable drop is the committee’s second for LSU, who dropped from just No. 3 to No. 7 after getting blown out by Alabama 29-0 on Nov. 3. The Tigers have not fallen out of the Top 10 of the rankings since they debuted on Oct. 30.

The most likely options are now the Peach Bowl in Atlanta and the Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Ariz.
