LSU officially named former New Orleans Saints assistant Joe Brady as its new passing game coordinator Monday.
Brady, 28, replaces former receivers coach Jerry Sullivan, who left the program to retire at the end of the 2018 season. He will be the youngest member of the LSU coaching staff
“Joe is energetic and innovative,” Orgeron said in a news release. “He spent the past two seasons working with Sean Payton at the New Orleans Saints and he brings to our staff extensive knowledge of the (run-pass option) game. He’s an outstanding coach that will be a tremendous asset to our football team.
”In addition to serving as our passing game coordinator, he will work alongside Mickey (Joseph) in coaching our talented group of wide receivers.”
Brady spent two seasons with the Saints in which he primarily worked with tight ends and quarterbacks and helped the organization maintain status as one of the most potent offenses in the NFL.
Prior to moving to New Orleans in 2017, he spent two seasons at Penn State as a graduate assistant.
