LSU swept the Southeastern Conference’s weekly awards as sophomore point guard Tremont Waters earned the league’s Player of the Week honor and forward Naz Reid was named the SEC’s Freshman of the Week.
Waters averaged 22.5 points, 7.5 assists, five steals and 3.5 rebounds in the Tigers’ wins against Mississippi State and Auburn to earn his first SEC Player of the Week honor this season.
Reid had arguably his best week in an LSU uniform, averaging a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds in the two games. It’s his first weekly league honor as a Tiger.
In both games the duo helped LSU erase double-digit deficits to come back and get two impressive wins to start a tough six-game stretch in which the Tigers still will play No. 5 Kentucky on Tuesday and No. 1 Tennessee on Feb. 23.
