LSU lost its third backup offensive lineman Wednesday to the NCAA transfer portal.
For the second time in as many days sophomore offensive tackle Xavier Hill followed Marcus Dumervil with the intention of transferring, several media sources have reported.
The 6-foot-4, 318-pound Hill, a native of Olive Branch, Mississippi, played in three games in 2022. He saw action against New Mexico, Auburn and Tennessee, a game where he replaced an injured left guard, Garrett Dellinger, in the first half.
Hill joins Dumervil and Cam Wire, a group with one combined start, to enter the transfer portal and gives the Tigers 10 players from the 2022 roster seeking a transfer. He started in the spring but was unable to beat out true freshmen Will Campbell and Emery Jones Jr. at the team’s offensive tackle positions.
Hill made two starts in ’21 against McNeese State and Central Michigan at left tackle and saw time against South Carolina in ’20.
The three-star prospect at Olive Branch High was rated the nation’s No. 18 offensive guard by Rivals.com.
