The fifth-ranked LSU women’s basketball team continued their undefeated streak to start the season with a commanding 91-64 victory over Seton Hall in the Basketball Hall of Fame Showcase.
Aneesah Morrow led the charge with an impressive 24 points and 19 rebounds, marking her fourth consecutive game with at least 15 boards. Mikaylah Williams also contributed greatly to the win, scoring 22 points including six three-pointers.
Coach Kim Mulkey praised Morrow’s relentless play and versatility, stating “She’s a double-double machine.” Reflecting on her upcoming homecoming game in Chicago, Morrow said, “Tonight was a full circle moment.”
Williams attributed her strong shooting performance to consistent practice, saying “The reps don’t lie.”
LSU dominated both offensively and defensively, shooting 52% from the field and committing only 13 turnovers. They pulled ahead in the second quarter with a dominant score of 30-10, securing a comfortable lead at halftime.
Seton Hall’s Faith Masonius put up an impressive 29 points but it wasn’t enough to overcome LSU’s efficient offense and stifling defense. Despite some efforts by Seton Hall in the third quarter, LSU remained in control and showcased their depth and skill throughout the game, earning their 13th straight victory.
