LSU has flipped a blue chip linebacker who just six days remaining before Nation Signing Day.
Four-star linebacker Jacob Phillips, rated as the best inside linebacker in the 2017 class by the 247Sports Composite rankings, announced via twitter that he’d flipped from Oklahoma to LSU.
Adding Phillips fills a major need for the Tigers, especially with starters Kendell Beckwith and Duke Riley graduating to the NFL and Baton Rouge natives Dylan Moses and Chris Allen bound for Alabama.

A commitment from Phillips brings LSU’s 2017 class to 21 pladges, including the six who’ve already enrolled. He joins Livonia’s Patrick Queen, an outside backer, as LSU’s second linebacker commit for the cycle.
Phillips would join rising sophomore Devin White and rising senior Donnie Alexander at the inside linebacker position on LSU’s roster.
