Antonio Blakeney scored 23 points, and Duop Reath tallied a double-double, but LSU surrendered 12 three-pointers and never lead in 77-64 loss at Texas Tech — its seven straight loss and ninth in its last 10 games.
Blakeney reached 20 points for the 14th time in his career and the eighth time this season, while Reath’s double-double was his fourth on the campaign.
Zach Smith (25 points, 8 rebounds) led four Red Raiders in double figures.
LSU fell to 9-11 overall, while Tech improved to 14-7.
Only three Tigers scored in the first half, led by 10 from Blakeney. Tech raced out to an 11-2 lead and knocked down 10 of its __ threes in the first 20 minutes, building a lead as large as 19. Back to back threes from Blakeney late in the period helped LSU trim the deficit to 12 by halftime.
Blakeney’s three with 17:03 to play pulled the Tigers to within 10, 46-36, but an 8:16 field goal drought from LSU’s offense saw Tech extend the lead to as large as 21 on a layup from Aaron Ross with 3:54 left.
LSU returns to the court Wednesday vs. South Carolina. Tip off is at 8 p.m. from the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
