Brandon Harris will be joining forces with a different member of the Miles clan at his new school — specifically, Manny.
The former LSU quarterback announced Sunday that he’d committed to North Carolina via a Facebook post. Harris wrote that he’d been in Chapel Hill this weekend taking a visit with Larry Fedora and his staff.
“Looking for a great situation and another opportunity to grow as a young man and as a student as well as a football player,” Harris wrote. “The opportunity to accomplish that is very important to me. After my offical visit this weekend to the University of North Carolina, I’m going to get that opportunity.”
A highly-touted prospect coming out of Bossier City, Harris took over as LSU’s starting quarterback during his sophomore season in 2015. He began 2016 as the Tigers’ QB1 before losing the job to Danny Etling two games into the season. He totaled 20 touchdown passes and 10 interceptions through three seasons at LSU.
Harris has stated publicly, including during an interview with Jordy Culotta and T-Bob Hebert of ESPN 104.5 last month, that he intends to graduate in June, which would make him eligible to play immediately for North Carolina.
