Arden Key won’t suit up this Saturday against Chattanooga, but he took a big step forward Wednesday as he finally ditched the gold.
The All-American edge rusher practiced in full Wednesday for the first time this season, dressed out in full without the gold non-contact jersey he’s sported all fall.
Key won’t play Saturday against UT-Chattanooga, LSU coach Ed orgeron affirmed on his radio show Wednesday night, but practicing in full is a significant step forward for Key in his return from offseason shoulder surgery.
“He is not cleared to play yet,” Orgeron said. “He is making progress every day. We will see next week. We will find out a little bit more next week.”
Sporting a brace on that left shoulder, he worked closely with LSU coach Ed Orgeron and the rest of the ‘Buck’ linebackers during the media viewing portion of practice.
The coach said Tuesday that his star still hadn’t been cleared for full contact, but LSU planned to expose him to more contact in practice Tuesday. Given Wednesday’s developments, it seems that went well.
