Baseball America ranked LSU’s 2022 recruiting class of high school and junior college players No. 1 in the nation in a release Monday.

The Tigers boast six players in the Baseball America Top 500 list of MLB draft prospects, the most of any school in the country.

Baseball America last month also rated LSU’s class of incoming Division I transfers No. 1 in the country.

The Tigers’ class of newcomers are currently engaged with their LSU teammates in conditioning drills and individual workouts. LSU begins its full-squad fall practice period on Friday, October 7.

Second-year baseball coach Jay Johnson, who lost five signees on the first day of the MLB Draft, signed six players listed in the Baseball America Top 500 draft prospects the most of any school in the country. That group includes right-handed pitcher Jaden Noot, catcher Brady Neal, rigth-handed pitcher Chase Shores, catcher Jared Jones, right-handed pitcher Aiden Moffitt and catcher Ethan Frey.
