A year after it began in earnest, Craig Victor’s LSU basketball career has come to an abrupt halt.

Johnny Jones announced in a release Thursday afternoon Victor had been dismissed from the program, citing “a violation of team rules.”

“We are obviously disappointed that we had to take this action,” Coach Jones said. “It’s a privilege and an honor to wear the LSU uniform. When you commit to being part of our basketball program, there are expectations and standards that we demand from our players. Those expectations go beyond the basketball court.”

Victor also missed the first three games of the season due to a violation of team rules. He started LSU’s last five contests and was averaging 10.5 points and a team-high 7.6 rebounds per game. He joined LSU from Arizona during the 2014-15 season after eight games for the Wildcats.

In 33 career games at LSU, Victor averaged 11.2 points and 6.1 rebounds per game.
