Duop Reath To Play For Australia in University Games

BATON ROUGE – LSU senior forward Duop Reath has been named to the 12-man team for the Australia Emerging Boomers that will take part in August in the 29th World University Games in Taipei.

Both the men’s and women’s teams consist of players 23 and under who are currently completing university studies in Australia or abroad.

The event is held in Taipei from Aug. 20-29.

The Boomers roster has five players who are competing in Australia and seven total players including Reath, who are presently playing at American universities: Emmett Naar (St. Mary’s), Dejan Vasiljevic (Miami), Tanner Krebs (St. Mary’s), Jack McVeigh (Nebraska), Xavier Cooks (Winthrop) and Gorjok Gak (Florida State).

Australia is in Group D for the pool stage where they will take on Ukraine, Lithuania, Israel, Russia and Mozambique.

Reath, in his first year with LSU last season, averaged 12.0 points per game and 6.2 rebounds a game while shooting 51.0 percent from the field (157-308). He started 30-of-31 games and averaged 27.7 minutes per game.
