LSU received a huge—literally—commitment on Thursday night.
JUCO offensive tackle Badara Traore announced he’ll sign with LSU once the early signing period begins on Dec. 20. The 6-foot-8, 315-pound Traore, who played for ASA College this fall, is the No. 1 JUCO offensive tackle in the country, according to 247Sports.
The staff considers Traore to be a plug-and-play starter at offensive tackle, particularly if right tackle Toby Weathersby decides to declare early for the NFL Draft.
LSU has made adding JUCO offensive linemen a priority all season, and Ed Orgeron and Co. have landed commitments from two in as many weeks. JUCO offensive guard Damien Lewis committed to the Tigers two days after the regular-season finale against Texas A&M.
The commitment from Traore brings LSU up to 19 verbal commitments coming down the home stretch before the early signing period.
