The LSU football team had to move inside for practice Sunday due to looming weather, but a little rain didn’t keep the Tigers from putting on shoulder pads for the first time during fall camp.
Though LSU did have some notable absences during the media viewing portion of practice (about 20 minutes of position drills at the start), including newly-minted No. 18 linebacker K’Lavon Chaisson, freshman defensive lineman Kardell Thomas and oddly enough Krstian Fulton, who spoke to the media during player interviews early Sunday afternoon.
Chaisson and Fulton are both coming off season-ending injuries, while Thomas missed the first practice of his collegiate career.
WORK AT CENTER
LSU may have a consistent body at center in Lloyd Cushenberry, but he won’t be able to play every snap for the Tigers.
Chasen Hines took snaps at the center position during Sunday’s practice, garnering speculation that he might take the second-string role this season.
The move comes after former LSU offensive lineman and backup center Cole Smith entered the transfer portal during the offseason, leaving an opening for the role.
