Interior reinforcement: LSU adds 21st commitment from ESPN four-star offensive tackle Ory Williams

LSU’s current recruiting class reached a high-water mark Sunday with its 21st commitment.

The Tigers moved to No. 9 in the 247Sports’ team rankings with a commitment from ESPN four-star offensive tackle Ory Williams of Buda High School in San Marcos, Texas.

The 6-foot-7, 285-pound Williams made his announcement on social media, releasing a 42-second video in which he placed a white LSU hat on his head. He attended this weekend’s ‘Bayou Splash’ recruiting event.

Williams, who also considered Florida, Texas and Texas A&M, is the third offensive lineman in LSU’s Class of 2024. He joins fellow offensive tackles Khayree Lee of John Ehret and Ethan Calloway of Mooresville, North Carolina.

“It was great,” Williams told On3 after his official visit to LSU on June 16. “He (offensive line coach Brad Davis) really showed me what he has set up for my development plan. It was nice. He’s already took that step to show me and help me progress and develop.”

LSU was one of 20 schools to offer Williams a scholarship on April 22 and with Davis leading the charge, honed on securing his commitment.

ESPN has Williams rated the nation’s No. 215 player, No. 20 offensive tackle and No. 37 prospect in Texas.

Williams began his career at El Campo High in Texas before transferring to Buda where he played junior varsity in 2021. This past season, he earned first team All-District 27-6A honors for the Cougars who went 4-7.
