The 6-foot-4 guard held offers from Stephen F. Austin and Miami (Ohio) but committed to the program, likely filling the roster spot vacated by now grad assistant Reed Vial.

Thomas is an athletic guard with a nice stroke who earned Newcomer of the Year honors in his junior season at Cy-Fair, when he averaged 18.0 points per game and hit 36 percent from 3. He also picked up first-team All-District honors his senior season.
