LSU’s Board of Supervisors approved a number of new contracts for Tiger coaches Friday – including a substantial pay raise for gymnastics coach D-D Breaux – but athletic director Joe Alleva did not present a three-year extension for women’s basketball coach Nikki Fargas that was included in the meeting’s original agenda, released Tuesday.
Breaux will now earn $405,000 annually on a deal extended to 2020.
“She’s an icon.”
The Board also approved new deals for director of golf Chuck Winstead, women’s coach Garrett Runion, women’s tennis co-coaches Julia and Michael Sell, and beach volleyball coach Russell Brock.
The original agenda included a three year extension for Fargas through 2022 at her current pay and with a $200,000 per year buyout, but neither Alleva nor the final resolution included discussion of her deal.
