LSU falls flat in 92-62 loss at Texas A&M

LSU surrendered 90+ points for the fourth time in five outings, and, for the fourth time in five outings, lost, this one a 92-62 dismantling by Texas A&M.

Antonio Blakeney scored 17 points and grabbed 7 rebounds for the Tigers (9-6, 1-3 in the SEC), who allowed the Aggies to exceed their season scoring average by 19 points and their SEC average by 29 points.

Admon Gilder and Tony Trocha-Morelos had 14 each, leading five double figure scorers for an A&M (9-6, 1-3 SEC) squad that shot 56.7 percent from the floor, including 69 percent in the second half.

The Tigers fell behind 19-3 early, trimming the deficit to as little as five in the first half on a pair of Wayde Sims free throws. A&M never trailed though, and extended the lead to 16 by halftime and to as large as 35 with 4:24 to go.

LSU was beaten 47 to 32 on the boards, outshot 57 percent to 37 percent, and outscored 36 to 20 in bench points.

The Tigers return to action Saturday at 2:30 p.m. against Alabama.
