Will Wade’s offseason quest to add “more big bodies” to his roster could find fruition in short time.
Javan White, a 6-foot-10 grad transfer from Oral Roberts with two years of eligibility beginning in 2018-19, has whittled down his list of potential destinations to LSU and Clemson, he told a radio show in South Carolina.

White, who averaged 10 points and 9 rebounds last season while shooting 50 percent from the field and 40 percent from the line (on just 15 attempts), made his official visit to Baton Rouge on Saturday.
An Ames, Iowa native, White is a monster on the glass, leading the Summit League in offensive rebounding percentage and ranking second in defensive rebounding percentage, according to KenPom.com.
“More big bodies,” Wade said at his end of season press conference, asked what the offseason recruiting priority was. “We’ve got to be more physical. We’re not physical enough. We need more big bodies.”
The Tigers lose forwards Aaron Epps and Duop Reath from last year’s roster, but they will add five-stars Naz Reid and Emmitt Williams as freshmen signees, as well as four-star combo forward Darius Days – three of the six best rebounders from the spring and summer shoe circuits last year. They also add Kavell Bigby-Williams, the former NJCAA Player of the Year and Oregon transfer who becomes eligible after sitting out the 2017-18 season in Baton Rouge. LSU also recently picked up junior college combo forward Marlon Taylor to add alongside Brandon Rachal as wings who can play inside in smaller lineups. Junior Wayde Sims also returns to provide depth in the post.
