LSU head coach Ed Orgeron pointed to the defensive line as an area of focus in recruiting after the Tigers’ 29-0 loss to Alabama, and the coaching staff has taken strides to fill that hole since then.
The Tigers took another step toward filling out their defensive line as they landed a commitment from 2020 defensive tackle Jordan Berry out of Harbor City, Calif.
Berry is currently listed as 6-foot-3, 280 pounds by 247Sports, which also has him a 3-star prospect with a .8826 Composite rating.
He also has offers from USC, Georgia, Florida, Boston College and Oregon State.
Berry joins fellow defensive tackles in CamRon Jackson (Haynesville) and Jaquelin Roy (University Lab) as LSU commitments in the 2020 class.
He’s the second California native to commit to the program in the class. Five-star cornerback Elias Ricks of Santa Ana, Calif., committed to the Tigers on Christmas day.
