Ed Orgeron: LSU will land “three of four” elite LBs by end of the day

LSU began National Signing Day with a splash.
Four-star Georgia linebacker Tyler Taylor committed to the Tigers shortly before 8 a.m. Wednesday, adding another blue chip player at what’s shaping up to be a strong linebacker haul. He sent in his signed National Letter of Intent shortly after.
“We needed some linebackers and we feel like toward the end of the day we’ll get 3 or 4 of the top linebackers in the country,” LSU coach Ed Orgeron said on ESPNU shortly before Taylor’s commitment.
Orgeron can also be heard calling Taylor “the next Kendell Beckwith, baby” in a video posted by Emily Dixon, an LSU staff member, from inside the proverbial war room.

LSU has already received a signed National Letter of Intent from Livonia linebacker Patrick Queen and Jordan Phillips, the No. 1 inside linebacker in the country, with more signing day decisions still to come.
