LSU’s road to the NCAA Tournament could have taken a final turn toward the NIT.

Without senior guard Keith Hornsby, sidelined perhaps for the season with an aggravation of a sports hernia, the Tigers dropped an 85-65 decision at Arkansas, their third straight loss in the conference.

Ben Simmons scored 23 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, and handed out 6 assists, but also missed seven free throws and turned the ball over five times. Antonio Blakeney fired in 22 points on 7-for-19 shooting for the Tigers (16-11, 9-6 SEC), burying four threes on eight attempts from deep.

Moses Kingsley’s 21 points and 12 rebounds led the way for Arkansas (14-14, 7-8 SEC), and Dusty Hannahs chipped in 17 points as part of five Razorbacks in double figures.

LSU returns to action Saturday against Florida at home. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
