LSU has lost a reserve defensive lineman to the NCAA transfer portal.
Sophomore defensive end Zavier Carter, who played in 10 games during the 2022 season, has decided to transfer per Matt Zenitz of On3Sports.
With LSU featuring an experienced defensive line that helped lead the way to a 10-4 record, SEC Western Division title and Citrus Bowl victory, playing time was minimal for the undersized 6-foot-4-, 205-pound Carter behind senior Ali Gaye and first team All-SEC performer BJ Ojulari.
Carter wound up with five tackles during his 10 appearances in ’22 which also included duty on coverage teams. He wound up with nine tackles in 18 games in his two seasons with the Tigers, picking up two tackles for loss, a sack and a forced fumble.
Carter selected LSU out of Atlanta’s Hapeville Charter where he was the No. 174 overall prospect on the ESPN300.
