LSU suspends starting guard Maea Teuhema indefinitely

LSU’s offensive line shuffle is in full effect.

Ed Orgeron announced the indefinite suspension of presumed starting right guard Maea Teuhema on Wednesday morning, throwing the Tigers’ plans up front through a bit of loop.

Teuhema, a two-year starter who has played both right tackle and right guard, had missed the beginning of camp with what Orgeron sorting out “academic stuff.” His suspension brings LSU’s number of scholarship offensive linemen to 11.

For now, Orgeron says the plan is to move Lloyd Cushenberry to right guard. Other options could be slotting in freshman Austin Deculus somewhere in the rotation, or sliding All-SEC performer Will Clapp back to guard from center and filling Clapp’s place over the ball with another player.

On Monday, Orgeron listed the front five depth chart as:

Left tackle: KJ Malone, Austin Deculus, Saahdiq Charles
Left guard: Garrett Brumfield, Edward Ingram
Center: Will Clapp
Right Guard: Lloyd Cushenberry, Donovaughn Campbell
Right tackle: Toby Weathersby, Jakori Savage
