LSU women’s golfers in sixth place tie after day one in The Ally

LSU junior golfer Ingrid Lindblad opened The Ally at Old Waverly in West Point, Miss. on Monday with a 3-under par 69 as the Tigers tied with Kentucky at 1-over 289 for sixth place on day one.

Lindblad is tied for sixth in the individual standings after a six-birdie round. Lindblad is tied for best state on par 5 holes, shooting 3-under on the four holes.

Carla Tejedo Mulet and Latanna Stone posted even par rounds of 72 to stand at T21, while LSU also counted a 4-over 76 from Elsa Svensson. Alden Wallace had the only eagle of the day in the field on the par-5, 513-yard second hole in a 5-over 77. Lauren Clark, playing as an individual for the Tigers, shot 1-over 73.

Alabama is leading at 10-under par 278. Florida is at 279, followed by Texas A&M 282, TCU 285, Arkansas 287 and then LSU and Kentucky.

The second round will begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday with LSU teamed with Auburn and Arkansas going off the first tee at 10:10 a.m. Live scoring can be found at Golfstat.com.
