LSU has been practicing in white helmets this week after announcing the Tigers will don some with purple jerseys this weekend against Northwestern State, and that didn’t change in the last practice media will get to see before the bout.
Something else that hasn’t change is the fact the Tigers are still being cautious with athletes nursing injuries, big or small.
Some athletes were a bit bruised up after the 45-38 victory against Texas this past weekend, and it’s shown in practice with multiple starters missing time.
Throughout the week that has included K’Lavon Chaisson, Glen Logan and Rashard Lawrence, none of whom are likely to play this weekend after getting dinged up against the Longhorns, and head coach Ed Orgeron said as much during his press luncheon on Monday.
Also missing in today’s practice were offensive linemen Chasen Hines and Damien Lewis as well as inside linebacker Michael Divinity.
Which of these players will be ready to go for Saturday’s game against Orgeron’s alma mater is yet to be seen, but needless to say, as the Tigers are currently a 56-point favorite, the LSU coaching staff isn’t going to risk further injuring athletes against a struggling FCS opponent coming to Tiger Stadium for a money game.
I am saying prayers for all of the TIGERS football players to be healed. Ya’ll played a hard fought game Saturday night in Texas, thank you for all of your effort and commitment to be the best player you can possibly be. GOD bless you. Go TIGERS !!!
Amen to what Mike said
